Junior Golf Clinics & Camps

 

 

Get your junior off to a great start with this golf clinic/camp series that will teach them the proper fundamentals. This program will provide the foundation of a skill set that will help the junior golfer advance to the best of their ability. We will cover all aspects of the game and use training aids that will help develop their skills. Clinics will be tailored accordingly for each student’s level of play.  Camps cover a wider range from beginner to advanced tournament players.

 

Junior Golf Clinics

  • (4) 60 min. golf clinics
  • Phil Cornetta Golf school Model
  • Ages 8-12
  • 5 Students Max (Min. 3 students)
  • Ability: Beginner & Intermediate Golfers
  • Specialized program with reduced numbers for more individual instruction

WEEK 1: Full Swing Fundamentals

  1. Review of full swing mechanics
  2. Discuss the different grip and wrist positions and how they influence the clubface throughout the golf swing.
  3. Discuss setup mechanics based on club selection and how to properly aim to the intended target
  4. Work on full swing sequencing
  5. Correct Body and Club Mechanics

 

WEEK 2: Short Game Fundamentals

  1. Review of chipping and pitching
  2. Review proper setup fundamentals & weight distribution
  3. Discuss Impact conditions (the moment of truth in golf)
  4. Distance Control and Chipping Versatility

 

WEEK 3: Introduction to Putting

  1. Discuss the proper grip, posture and setup mechanics
  2. Understanding putter path and the importance of center face contact
  3. Work on short range putts and lag putting (long distance)
  4. Basic green reading skills and strategies

 

WEEK 4: On-Course Playing Clinic

  1. Discuss basic rules of golf and proper etiquette
  2. Playing strategy and course management
  3. Pre-shot routine and club selection

Junior Camp Format:

 

Hour 1: Full Swing training/coaching and video analysis review

Each student will receive a slow motion video analysis review of his or her golf swing. The instructor will highlight the key areas that need the most work and provide drills and training.

 

Hour 2: Short Game and Putting Fundamentals

Review of chipping and pitching, bunker play and putting mechanics. Putting contest and games.

 

Hour 3: On-Course Play on the Par 3

Discuss basic rules of golf and proper etiquette. Introduce playing strategies and course management. Learn how to navigating trouble shots and bad lies. Tournament Formats and fun games/contests

 

*Fridays reserved as a makeup date in case of inclement weather.
