PGA Golf Professional
Phil grew up on Bass Rocks Golf Club where he still resides as a member today. Phil graduated at the top of his class from the Golf Academy of America in Orlando, FL where he played professionally while earning a degree in Golf Complex Management with a duel emphasis of Golf Instruction and Club Fitting. He served as an Assistant Golf/Teaching Professional at Salem Country Club for 5 years before leaving to become the GM/Director of Golf at Rowley Country Club for several years. Phil has always been interested in figuring out how to make golf a year round sport in the Northeast. So in 2011, he helped start the largest indoor golf center in New England called OptiGolf located in Middleton, MA. Phil still heads up the teaching program at OptiGolf as the Director of Instruction where he combines the golf simulator technology with video analysis to allow his students an opportunity to work on their golf games year round. In 2016, the Phil Cornetta Golf School partnered with Sun N’ Air Golf Center in Danvers, MA to head up the Instruction Program. Sun N’ Air Golf Center has consistently been ranked as one of the best driving range and practice centers in Massachusetts. Sun N’ Air Golf Center has a large open driving range, private grass tee for Instruction, a large short game area with bunkers, a putting green, and 3 hole Par 3 course.

Phil’s innovative approach to teaching, great communication skills, and blend of using technology and drills are what makes him one of the premier golf instructors in Massachusetts. Phil has been teaching golf for over 10 years and is a certified Teaching Professional as well as a Titleist Staff member. All of his lessons include video analysis, emailing of the videos with notes, and the use of kinetic drills and training aids. Phil focuses on teaching the game from the hole back to the tee, instilling the modern fundamentals of the swing while fine tuning his student’s strengths and weaknesses to build a core of essential golf skills that will improve any golfer’s game. He is committed to helping individuals understand the steps they need to take to play better golf.

With over 25 years of Golf Educational experience, John has perfected programs that fit the demands of players of all ages. Specialized programs are available for adults and juniors. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, advanced, or competitive player, John will design a program with your goals in mind. Many players have grown from John’s tutelage and have gone on to win various tournaments. Some adults have won playing in their respective leagues; some have won at their private clubs and have more than once defended their titles. Juniors have gone on to win on the USKids Tour, have qualified for the USKids World Championship held at Pinehurst, Pinehurst, NC, others have established themselves as #1 players on their respective High School Golf Teams. Others have won on the AJGA Tour and have qualified to play in The Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic held at the Doral Resort & Spa in Miami, FL, one has gone on to earn their PGA membership. John is the author of “TEMPO…Heartbeat of the Golf Swing, The Little Blue Book I”, available on Amazon.com. The book is a definitive work on how to add TEMPO to the golf swing.
